Blue Sky Uranium Corp. Expands Portfolio with Two New Uranium Projects in Argentina

Blue Sky Uranium Corp. has announced the acquisition of two new projects totaling nearly 80,000 hectares in Argentina’s Neuquén Basin, aimed at discovering uranium deposits suitable for In Situ Recovery (ISR).

These acquisitions strategically enhance the company’s medium to long-term prospects for expanding uranium mineral resources.

Project Details:

  1. Corcovo Project:
    • Option to earn a 100% interest in a 20,000-hectare area located in the eastern part of the Neuquén basin within Mendoza province.
    • Capitalizes on new mining initiatives from the provincial government.
    • Identified by the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) for uranium exploration potential.
    • Uranium radiometric anomalies detected at depth in oil and gas wells, with geologic conditions conducive to ISR uranium deposits.
  2. Chihuidos Project:
    • 100% ownership of a 60,000-hectare area situated in the central Neuquén basin, Neuquén province.
    • Initially recognized by CNEA in the 1960s and 70s, and later explored by Cameco Corp. in joint venture with Calypso Uranium Corp. in the early 2000s.
    • Located on a topographic high surrounded by airborne radiometric anomalies and surface uranium occurrences, suggesting potential for preserved uranium mineralization at depth.

Blue Sky has initiated the permitting process for field programs and is updating and verifying the database for both projects. This includes utilizing publicly available bore-hole surveys and historic oil and gas exploration seismic 2D/3D surveys to identify and prioritize prospective targets for future exploration and drilling.

Nikolaos Cacos, President and CEO of Blue Sky, stated, “With our flagship Amarillo Grande Project advancing into the prefeasibility stage and multiple exploration targets ready for further development, it is an opportune time to expand our project pipeline. ISR-amenable uranium deposits offer low-cost, low-impact production potential with shorter development timelines. ISR is widely used globally in uranium mining, making projects amenable to these methods highly desirable for future production. Both Corcovo and Chihuidos present excellent prospects for identifying ISR-amenable uranium resources, and we are excited to replicate our exploration success at Amarillo Grande.”
