Key features/benefits
Alcatraz integral multi turn (type DML/SML) valve interlocks fit on all types of handwheel operated valves, such as gate, globe and all gear operated valves. The interlocks are easy to install, even when the valve is in a live process. They are mounted on multi turn valves to interlock the locked open and/or locked closed position of the valve. Only if both keys are inserted into the lock portions the valve can be operated. The first key can only be released in the fully open position, the other key can only be released in the fully closed position.
Alcatraz’ Interlocks for globe valves can be used to control valve flow, ensure safe valve operation, pressure safety valve systems and pig trap systems.
Applications of globe valve interlocks
Alcatraz’ Interlocks for globe valves can be used in multiple situations like control valve flow, ensuring safe valve operation, safe switchover of pressure safety valve systems and operation of pig trap systems. To offer the right interlock for a globe valve we need to understand your application and sequence of actions. To execute this properly our dedicated team could assist you with measurement, commissioning and installation. Globe valves are commonly used in applications like:
- Flow control / valve flow control
- Tank farming & Storage solutions
- Pressure safety valve systems
- Pig trap systems
Solutions for (inter)locking globe valves
Globe valves utilize a handwheel to operate. To lock these valves we have designed two kinds of interlocks depending on your sequence (linear or nonlinear), our engineering department will design it.
DML (small & large) interlocks specs:
- AISI 316
- Material certificate 2.1 (3.1 on request)
- ML 1 interlock can be mounted onto all host valves with a drive bush edge to edge dimension less than 65 mm
- Electropolishing
- No modification to host equipment
Feature and benefits:
- Integral parallel splined drive-tube
- Encapsulated lock portion preventing ingress & contamination
- Mechanically programmed keys
- Alcatraz 5 step safety integrity design
