TechnipFMC has been awarded a substantial integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract by Italian energy major Eni for the development of the Maha deepwater project offshore Indonesia. The award is classified as “substantial,” placing its value between $250 million and $500 million.
Under the contract, TechnipFMC will design and manufacture Subsea 2.0 tree systems, flexible flowlines, a manifold, and associated controls. The company will also handle the full installation of the subsea production system, marking a significant milestone as this project becomes Eni’s first deployment of TechnipFMC’s Subsea 2.0 configure-to-order technology in Indonesia.
Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC, highlighted the importance of the collaboration, noting that the Maha development reinforces the long-standing partnership between the two companies. “This project marks another opportunity to leverage our integrated execution model and configurable product platform,” he said. “Subsea 2.0 enables greater timeline certainty, and we look forward to delivering value through this integrated approach.”
The Maha subsea system will tie back to the existing Jangkrik floating production unit (FPU), utilizing knowledge gained from previous joint developments in the region, including the Jangkrik and Merakes projects.
TechnipFMC recorded the contract in its inbound orders for Q2 2025, reflecting continued momentum in the company’s global subsea business.
This award follows other recent TechnipFMC achievements, including a multimillion-dollar subsea assignment with ExxonMobil Guyana announced in September, tied to an offshore development in the Stabroek block.
