NEXTCHEM Secures Three-Year Engineering Services Contract from SATORP

MAIRE has announced that its subsidiary, NextChem Tech, a part of NEXTCHEM’s Sustainable Technology Solutions division, has secured a three-year contract from SATORP—a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and TotalEnergies. The contract covers engineering and technology services for the Sulfur Recovery Complex at SATORP’s refinery in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

Under this agreement, NextChem Tech will provide process optimization and engineering advisory services to enhance operational performance, troubleshoot technical challenges, and improve energy efficiency while reducing the carbon footprint of the Sulfur Recovery Complex. The complex comprises three key units: the Sulfur Recovery Unit, the Amine Regeneration Unit, and the Sour Water Stripper.

Additionally, the scope of work includes identifying potential capital investment opportunities, suggesting design enhancements, and implementing technology-driven improvements. This contract further solidifies NEXTCHEM’s reputation as a trusted leader in technology and process innovation, recognized for its expertise and dedication to ongoing research and development.

Commenting on the collaboration, MAIRE’s CEO, Alessandro Bernini, stated: “This partnership represents a significant step forward in advancing sustainability and efficiency within the refining industry. It not only strengthens our relationship with SATORP—building upon TECNIMONT’s multi-billion-dollar Amiral petrochemical expansion project awarded in June 2023—but also reaffirms our commitment to delivering cutting-edge engineering and technology solutions that minimize environmental impact.”
