NesmaKent Energy Secures PMC Contract with Aramco

NesmaKent Energy Company (NKJV), a joint venture between Nesma & Partners and Kent, has been awarded a key PMC contract with Aramco, signaling the official start of phase one of Saudi Arabia’s National EPC Champion Initiative. This milestone further cements NesmaKent’s role in advancing the Kingdom’s energy infrastructure and contributing to its long-term economic vision.

Strengthening Energy Infrastructure in South Ghawar

The initial project under this contract involves upgrading water handling facilities in the South Ghawar Area—a critical region that supports Aramco’s strategic goal of sustaining crude oil output and achieving Maximum Sustainable Capacity (MSC). NesmaKent’s expertise in EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) will be central to ensuring smooth project execution, minimal operational disruption, and enhanced system performance.

Driving Local Value Through Innovation and Sustainability

As part of Aramco’s National EPC Champion Program, this initiative aligns with broader goals to boost in-Kingdom value and local workforce development. NesmaKent brings a unique value proposition by blending global engineering standards with deep local insight. Key areas of impact include:

  • Seamless Project Transition: The project framework ensures a smooth shift from Design Basis Scoping Paper (DBSP) to Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), cutting down bidding cycles and enabling faster execution.

  • Operational Excellence: Through advanced risk management, integrated communication, and optimized contract controls, NesmaKent aims to elevate efficiency, accountability, and interface management.

  • Workforce Development: NesmaKent is committed to Saudization through robust training and knowledge transfer programs, helping build long-term capabilities within the national workforce.

  • Digital Innovation: The company will deploy advanced digital tools to optimize project execution, improve resource allocation, and maintain international quality standards.

  • Sustainable Solutions: In alignment with Vision 2030, NesmaKent supports environmentally responsible engineering through green technologies, renewable energy integration, and resource conservation.

  • Supply Chain Growth: By leveraging local suppliers and regional networks, the project aims to stimulate economic diversification and improve supply chain resilience across Saudi Arabia.

A New Chapter in EPCM Leadership

This PMC contract with Aramco marks a new era for NesmaKent as it continues to lead transformative energy projects across the Kingdom. With a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and local value creation, the company is not only delivering on project goals but also shaping the future of Saudi Arabia’s energy sector.

“Our partnership with Aramco under the National EPC Champion Program reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability,” said Ahmad Hamadah, General Manager at NesmaKent. “We are proud to be at the forefront of this national transformation.”
