New Delhi-based Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has awarded Larsen & Toubro (L&T) with a five-year engineering procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a floating solar project to be built at Getalsud Dam in Ranchi in eastern India’s state of Jharkhand.
The contract, which is worth approximately $73.1 million, covers design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, and commissioning, along with five years of operation and maintenance (O&M).
It comprises around $71 million for the EPC phase and $1.9 million for the O&M phase.
SECI opened a tender for the construction and operation of the 100 MW floating solar plant in 2022.
The project was tendered through international competitive bidding and financed by the World Bank.
Recently L&T also secured an order to build a 75 MW floating solar park project on the Panchet Dam in Jharkhand, India.
The floating solar project on the Panchet Dam is a part of the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Bank (UMREPP) being developed on Damodar Valley corporation reservoirs in Jharkhand and West Bengal.
