Heisco-IHI JV Secures $563 Million Contract for Kuwait Distillation Plant Upgrade

Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Co. K.S.C. (HEISCO) of Kuwait, in partnership with Japan’s IHI Corporation, has announced the signing of a contract to upgrade steam boilers and thermal units at the Doha West Distillation Station in Kuwait.

The contract, valued at KWD 173.18 million (approximately USD 563 million), was awarded by the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Kuwait.

Under the agreement, the joint venture will undertake the development and modernization of the station’s steam boilers, thermal units, control systems, and auxiliary systems, ensuring improved efficiency and reliability at the facility.
