Abraj Energy Wins $280.7m PDO Drilling Contracts

Abraj Energy Services has secured four major drilling rig service contracts from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), marking a significant expansion of its long-term partnership with the country’s largest oil and gas producer. The six-year agreements have a combined value of OMR 108 million ($280.7 million).

Under the new contracts, Abraj will provide four land drilling rigs for operations in Block 6. Two rigs are expected to begin work in the first quarter of 2026, while the remaining two will commence in the second quarter of the same year. One of the rigs will be newly added to Abraj’s fleet, with the other three sourced from existing assets.

Abraj Energy Services, established in 2006, has grown into Oman’s leading integrated drilling and well services company. With one of the youngest and most advanced rig fleets in the Gulf region, the company has diversified into innovative drilling solutions, well services and integrated project management. Its long-standing relationships with national and international operators continue to support its expansion and operational performance.

The latest contract award strengthens Abraj’s presence in Oman’s core hydrocarbon fields and reinforces its strategic role in supporting PDO’s long-term production plans.
