Worley has confirmed that it has been awarded a pivotal contract to provide comprehensive engineering services and a final cost estimate for a key pipeline integral to the success of the ambitious $44 billion Alaska LNG project in the United States. This major milestone cements Worley’s role in one of North America’s most complex and strategically significant energy infrastructure initiatives.
The pipeline, stretching approximately 1300 kilometres from Alaska’s North Slope to the southern liquefaction facilities, will serve as the critical midstream component in transporting natural gas from remote Arctic reserves to global markets. The announcement affirms details previously released by Glenfarne Group, the developer behind the Alaska LNG project, which aims to deliver up to 20 million tonnes of LNG per annum (mtpa) through its planned liquefaction terminal.
Worley’s scope under the contract includes detailed engineering analysis, route optimization, materials selection, environmental compliance assessments, and the formulation of a definitive cost estimate—essential inputs as Glenfarne and its partners progress toward a final investment decision (FID).
