VA TECH WABAG has been awarded a contract worth approximately ₹340 crore for the development of key water management infrastructure at GAIL (India) Limited’s integrated petrochemical complex in Pata, Uttar Pradesh.
The project involves the design, construction, and operation of a 450 cum/hr ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO)-based effluent recycling plant, a zero liquid discharge (ZLD) plant, and a wastewater treatment facility. These systems will play a crucial role in ensuring sustainable water usage and environmental compliance at the complex.
Under the terms of the contract, WABAG will execute the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phase within 24 months, followed by a six-month Operation and Maintenance (O&M) period. GAIL has appointed Projects and Development India Limited (PDIL) as the project’s engineer-in-charge. The treated and recovered water from the facility will be repurposed as cooling tower make-up water, enhancing resource efficiency and sustainability at the petrochemical complex.
