Vietnam to Finalize Investor for $2.5 Billion Nghi Son LNG Power Plant by October

Authorities in Vietnam’s Thanh Hoa province are set to select an investor through a competitive bidding process by October for the development of a $2.5 billion LNG-fired power plant.

According to a provincial official, the Nghi Son LNG Power Plant, located within the Nghi Son Economic Zone, is planned to have a designed capacity of 1.5 gigawatts and is expected to commence commercial operations by 2030.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, the deputy director of the Nghi Son Economic Zone, stated, “The bids will be opened on September 30, and the selected investor will be announced in mid to late October.”
