Vallourec Secures $250 Million Contract with Sonatrach for Gas Transport Pipes

A French company has secured a significant contract valued at $250 million to supply pipes for gas transportation to Sonatrach, Algeria’s national oil and gas corporation.

Vallourec, a pipe manufacturer based in France, announced the deal on Tuesday, revealing that the contract will see the supply of pipes from its manufacturing facilities in France, China, Indonesia, and Brazil.

The agreement involves the delivery of carbon steel pipes, which are scheduled to be shipped to Sonatrach over the course of 2025 and 2026. Vallourec confirmed that it has officially received the contract notification from Sonatrach.

This deal also marks a notable shift in the diplomatic landscape between Algeria and France. The partnership comes at a time when relations between the two countries have been improving after a period of tension in recent years. The timing of this contract is seen as a positive development for both the oil and gas industry and for bilateral relations.
