US Ash Grove’s Pyro Upgrade of Leamington Plant

Ash Grove Cement, a CRH Company, has chosen FLSmidth for the pyro upgrade of its Leamington plant in Utah, USA. Opened in 1980 and first upgraded in 1996, the facility will now undergo significant enhancements aimed at improving the efficiency of the kiln system.

The upgrade will include a new calciner section, a new tertiary air duct, a new kiln drive system, and other components.

The primary goals of this upgrade are to reduce the system’s pressure drop and decrease fuel and electricity consumption. The Leamington plant supplies cement to the Salt Lake area and parts of Nevada and New Mexico
