The proposed construction of a thermoelectric plant in Brasília has the potential to revive discussions surrounding the long-planned TGBC gas pipeline project.
Originally designed to transport natural gas from the interior of São Paulo, the pipeline route extends through the Triângulo Mineiro region in Minas Gerais before reaching the state of Goiás and the Federal District. If the thermoelectric project moves forward, it could provide the necessary demand stimulus to justify investments in expanding and completing the TGBC pipeline, enhancing energy security and natural gas distribution in the central-western region of Brazil.
