Technip Energies awarded contract for IOCL’s naphtha cracking unit at Paradip, India

Technip Energies (Paris) has secured a significant contract from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL; Mumbai) for the Paradip Naphtha Cracker Unit (PDNCU). This contract encompasses the license, basic engineering design package, proprietary equipment and catalyst supply, and related services for the 1,500,000-ton/year naphtha cracker unit, a key component of the new petrochemical complex in Paradip, India.

This petrochemical complex will integrate with the existing 15 million tons/year refinery and is set to become one of India’s four proposed Petroleum, Chemicals & Petrochemical Investment Regions. The complex will feature a world-scale cracker unit and downstream process units producing various petrochemical products.

Technip Energies will supply essential proprietary equipment, including the Ripple Tray™ separation technology and catalyst, alongside their naphtha cracker technology.

Bhaskar Patel, SVP Sustainable Fuels, Chemicals & Circularity at Technip Energies, expressed enthusiasm about the project: “We are once again delighted to be entrusted by Indian Oil Corporation Limited for their mega cracker project in Paradip. Our proven ethylene technology and legacy work on mega crackers are important differentiators for our clients. We look forward to delivering this significant project which illustrates our commitment to India.”
