Suzano is betting big on its industrial complex in Aracruz, Espírito Santo. The contributions, which include the construction of the state’s first tissue paper factory – scheduled for delivery in 2026 – and a major maintenance and modernization process of the three cellulose production lines, total R$1.45 billion.
The new boiler alone, with the capacity to serve the three cellulose plants that operate on site, is estimated to cost R$520 million. The tissue paper plant is budgeted at R$650 million and the remainder of the amount will go towards the maintenance and modernization of the units.
“These are important and complex interventions, which are mobilizing around two thousand workers. The heaviest part of the maintenance, with factory shutdowns, will take place in the first half of the year. Investments in the boiler and paper unit will be delivered in 2025”, said Fabricio José da Silva, executive responsible for the factories in Espírito Santo.
It is worth noting that most of the suppliers contracted to carry out the interventions are from the metal-mechanical sector in Espírito Santo.
