Subsea7 has secured a substantial subsea installation contract from Chevron Australia for the Gorgon Stage 3 development offshore Western Australia, with an estimated value of between $150 million and $300 million.
The scope of work covers project management, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, and pre-commissioning of subsea production infrastructure in deepwater conditions of approximately 1,350 metres. The project supports the next phase of development at the Gorgon gas field, a cornerstone asset in Australia’s LNG export portfolio.
Subsea7 will deploy its DLV2000 heavy-lift and pipelay vessel to execute critical deepwater installation activities, including subsea pipelines and associated infrastructure designed to ensure long-term flow assurance, system integrity, and operational reliability.
Project management and engineering activities will begin immediately from Subsea7’s Perth office, with additional engineering support provided by the company’s execution centres in Kuala Lumpur and Paris. Offshore installation is scheduled for 2028, following the completion of fabrication and pre-installation works.
The contract builds on Subsea7’s established track record with Chevron and reflects continued investment in deepwater subsea infrastructure to sustain Australia’s long-term LNG supply.
