A contract to deliver essential frontline services and maintain the region’s water network has been awarded for the next five years.
The £250 million agreement has been secured with Clancy, our existing contractor, and will drive performance improvements through a transformation in service delivery.
Under the contract, Clancy will be responsible for both reactive and proactive work, including responding to emergency calls, supporting leakage reduction, collaborating with housing developers and businesses, and installing meters.
Stephanie Davidovitz, Head of Water Networks, said:
“We’re delighted to extend our partnership with an industry-leading supplier that brings expertise and innovation to the table.
“This agreement ensures we meet the high service levels expected by our customers and helps us deliver on our long-term performance commitments.
“We challenged all bidding companies to demonstrate value, efficiency, and fresh thinking, and we look forward to seeing a step change in performance as a result of this robust process.”
The contract will commence in October 2025 and run until 2030, with potential extensions.
Ronan Clancy, Executive Director at Clancy, commented:
“As the new AMP8 control period begins, Southern Water is rightly focusing on performance and ensuring that increased investments yield the greatest impact on the resilience and capacity of its assets.
“With our decades of experience in the water sector and a culture of innovation, we are well-positioned to support Southern Water in strengthening and expanding its network while maximizing value for money and minimizing disruption for customers. We look forward to building on our strong partnership over the next five years.”
