Houston-based oilfield services leader SLB has secured a series of drilling contracts from Shell to support energy development across its deep- and ultra-deepwater assets.
The contracts encompass a wide range of services, including digital directional drilling, logging while drilling, surface logging, cementing, drilling and completions fluids, completions, and wireline services. These services will be delivered across key regions, including the UK North Sea, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Gulf of Mexico, among others.
Spanning a three-year period, the projects will leverage SLB’s AI-enabled digital drilling capabilities alongside its expertise in ultra-deepwater environments. The operations will be centrally managed through SLB’s Performance Live centers.
SLB has already begun work on the contracts, marking another milestone in its collaboration with Shell.
This deal follows a recent major win for SLB. The company was awarded an $800 million contract by Petrobras to provide integrated services for over 100 deepwater wells across Brazil’s offshore fields. That project includes deploying advanced technologies in drilling, cementing, and fluids management on up to nine ultra-deepwater rigs.
These back-to-back wins underscore SLB’s growing dominance in delivering innovative solutions for the global offshore energy sector.
