UK-based consulting and engineering company Wood, in partnership with Tendrill, has secured a significant five-year contract with Shell’s Brunei operations to provide brownfield engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services across the company’s onshore and offshore assets.
Under the terms of the agreement, the TendrillWood joint venture will deliver fully integrated, end-to-end brownfield EPC solutions—from conceptual design and detailed engineering to procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up. The scope of work will cover all Shell-operated facilities in Brunei, ensuring continued production efficiency and asset integrity in one of Southeast Asia’s key oil and gas hubs.
Wood confirmed that the contract also includes an optional two-year extension, which could extend the JV’s partnership with Shell Brunei to 2032.
Formed in 2023, the TendrillWood JV leverages the global engineering expertise of Wood and the local strength and capability of Tendrill. The venture currently employs around 1,000 personnel, with approximately 70% being Bruneian nationals, aligning with Shell’s and Brunei’s goals to promote local content and workforce development.
The new contract marks a continuation of Wood’s long-standing relationship with Shell and underscores the JV’s growing role in supporting energy infrastructure in the region through safe, sustainable, and high-quality project delivery.
