SEPCO3-Doosan Enerbility Consortium Secures Contract for PP12 Power Plant Project

SEPCO3 and Doosan Enerbility have signed an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for the PP12 expansion project, an 1,800MW combined cycle power plant in Saudi Arabia.

SEPCO3 announced that this contract marks its third consecutive major power project in the country, following the successful execution of the 1,800MW Rumah Combined Cycle Power Plant and the 1,800MW Nairyah Combined Cycle Power Plant EPC projects in March.

The PP12 expansion project will incorporate 7H-class gas turbine combined cycle technology, with a total installed capacity of 1,800MW. This milestone further strengthens SEPCO3’s strategic partnership with SEC, building on the success of previous projects, including the Saudi PP13 and PP14 power plants.

As a key component of Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030” energy transformation plan, the PP12 expansion will enhance the reliability of the national power grid, meeting the increasing industrial and residential electricity demand in the Riyadh region. Additionally, the project will support the kingdom’s efforts to optimize its energy mix and develop a modern, clean, and low-carbon power system.
