SAUR Secures Major Wastewater Operations and Maintenance Contract in Qatar

French water services company SAUR has been awarded a major wastewater operations and maintenance (O&M) contract in Qatar, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion across the Middle East.

Under the new performance-based agreement, SAUR will operate and maintain the entire wastewater infrastructure serving Doha and the South Zone, providing essential services to more than one million residents. The award highlights the confidence placed by Qatari authorities in SAUR’s ability to manage large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure systems.

The contract scope includes the operation, maintenance, and performance optimisation of wastewater assets, with a strong focus on reliability, efficiency, and environmental compliance. SAUR will draw on its global technical expertise to support Qatar’s infrastructure modernisation and long-term sustainability goals.

As part of the project, SAUR will deploy advanced digital solutions, including predictive maintenance tools and intelligent network management systems. These technologies are designed to improve asset performance, minimise operational risks, and enable data-driven decision-making, enhancing the resilience and efficiency of the wastewater network.

“This contract represents a landmark achievement for SAUR and a strong endorsement of our technical expertise and operational excellence,” the company said in a statement. “It also reflects our commitment to supporting our partners in the region with innovative, reliable, and future-ready infrastructure solutions.”

The award further strengthens SAUR’s footprint in the Middle East, reinforcing its position as a trusted international partner for the management of high-stakes water and wastewater infrastructure projects across rapidly growing urban environments.
