Saipem Picks AIS for Total’s Angola Kaminho Project

AIS Bardot has secured a new contract from Saipem for TotalEnergies’ Kaminho project offshore Angola, reinforcing its longstanding relationship with both companies.

The scope of the award includes the manufacture and supply of three complete hybrid riser lines, each 100 meters long. These risers will be used to pump seawater, ensuring the required volume and flow of cold water to cool essential FPSO equipment and prevent overheating.

Stanislas Tchoutakian, Business Development Manager – France, stated:
“This award highlights our strong partnership with Saipem and Total. It is the result of years of development and qualification—congratulations to the entire team for this achievement.”

The risers are manufactured using high-density polyethylene, offering a lighter and more sustainable alternative to traditional rubber and steel designs. This not only reduces operational costs but also supports environmental goals through lower energy use.

Designed to withstand the specific water depth, temperature, and flow rate demands of the site, the risers are engineered for hydrodynamic performance, long-term durability, and ease of installation. They comply with international offshore standards and require no maintenance throughout their operational life.
