Petrobras to contract 12 newbuild vessels in major $2 billion-plus tender

Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras is adopting a novel solution to contract a fresh batch of newbuild offshore support vessels in an attempt to give new impetus to the country’s ailing shipbuilding industry.

The new tender calls for the charter of up 12 Brazilian-flagged platform supply vessels featuring high local content requirements, meaning the newbuild PSVs are to be manufactured   at local shipequirements, meyard facilities that struggled in recent years with low demand.   The initiative is similalr to the so called Prorefam program launched by Petrobras back in 2008 to stimulate  local industry and help Petrobras aging fleet.   Bidding is open for up to 12 Brazilian-flagged PSVs, with long-term contracts offering stability and growth for the industry. A unique chance for shipyards and local businesses to stand out!

Additionally, with an emphasis on efficiency and green technology, Petrobras is leading the way towards a more sustainable future in the oil and gas sector. An inspiring example of innovation and commitment to the environment!
