The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has announced the issuance of three new tenders for infrastructure development in the South Saad Al-Abdullah project, which covers 23,551 residential plots. Sources reveal that PAHW plans to issue a total of 12 tenders for the project during the current fiscal year, with five tenders already in progress, including two dedicated to the installation of main power stations. Seven more tenders will follow, focusing on overseeing infrastructure work and the construction of additional power stations. Construction orders are expected to commence in 2028, contingent on the contractor meeting the three-year project timeline.
Amina Al-Awadhi, PAHW’s Deputy Director General for Control and Information Systems Affairs, confirmed that the authority’s Tender Committee has approved three key tenders for establishing, completing, and maintaining the city’s infrastructure. These projects, which span 1,080 days, cover all residential and four investment suburbs. The tenders involve infrastructure work for the 23,551 plots, construction of irrigation tank buildings, and 649 sub-electricity stations.
In addition to laying rainwater, sewage, irrigation, treated water, and freshwater networks, the scope includes laying the first and second asphalt layers on roads throughout the residential areas. The project has been divided into three packages and will be open to public tendering. International contractors, including those from local, Gulf, and foreign companies specializing in roadworks and infrastructure services, are encouraged to participate.
