PacificLight awarded contract by Energy Market Authority (EMA) to build, a 100MW, hydrogen-ready, gas turbine facility

PacificLight is delighted to announce the award by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) for a 25-year Fast Start contract to build, own and operate a 100MW, hydrogen-ready, gas turbine facility. This award is a significant milestone, which underscores our commitment to ensure the reliability and security of our nation’s energy system.

The Fast Start ancillary unit, with the capability to ramp up from standstill to full load in 18 minutes, will be constructed at PacificLight’s existing site on Jurong Island by Jurong Engineering Ltd (JEL). JEL has extensive experience in constructing power plants both in Singapore and throughout the region. The facility will comprise of two high efficiency gas turbines, which will be supplied by Siemens Energy. The 100MW facility is scheduled to be operational by Q2 2025.
