Orlen and Naftogaz Launch Joint Gas Projects to Rebuild and Expand Energy Cooperation

Orlen Naftogaz gas projects have taken a major step forward with the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding between the Polish energy company Orlen and Ukraine’s Naftogaz. This agreement marks the beginning of strategic cooperation in gas production, infrastructure rebuilding, and LNG supply.

The MoU was signed on May 29, 2025, by Sergii Koretskyi, Head of the Naftogaz Group, and Ireneusz Fąfara, CEO of Orlen Group.

“I believe in bringing the cooperation of our companies to a fundamentally better level,” said Koretskyi. “I’m grateful to our Polish partners and to Orlen CEO Ireneusz Fąfara for the constructive dialogue and sincere support of Ukraine.”

Both sides also explored expanding gas and petroleum product supplies and deepening cross-border commercial partnerships.

Recent collaborations between Orlen and Naftogaz include agreements for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine. To date, 300 million cubic meters of LNG have been contracted.
