NVL Egypt Begins PV43-M Naval Vessel Production

NVL Egypt, a subsidiary of Germany’s NVL Group, has officially started production of ten PV43-M naval vessels in cooperation with Alexandria Shipyard, marking a new milestone in Egypt’s naval modernization program.

Production began on schedule in September, with the new vessels designed for surveillance, reconnaissance, and the protection of critical maritime infrastructure.

The PV43-M class is engineered for maritime surveillance and response missions, offering self-defence and anti-surface warfare capabilities, and will play a key role in protecting Egypt’s economic interests at sea.

According to NVL Egypt, the program aims to strengthen the Egyptian Naval Forces through joint shipbuilding and technology transfer from NVL’s German headquarters. The vessels will feature advanced European weapon systems and contribute to localizing naval expertise within Egypt’s growing shipbuilding sector.

NVL Egypt’s Managing Director emphasized the project’s contribution to advancing the country’s shipbuilding capabilities, adding that several new international-level projects are being developed in cooperation with the Egyptian Navy.

NVL Group’s CEO stated: “We are proud of the trust placed in NVL Egypt by the Egyptian Government and Navy to deliver this important national project. Our support extends beyond shipbuilding to include long-term maintenance, training, and technical services to ensure operational readiness.”
