NPC CEO Announces New Projects to Strengthen Iran’s Downstream Petrochemical Sector

The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Hassan Abbaszadeh, recently announced the introduction of several new projects aimed at developing Iran’s downstream petrochemical industries. These initiatives will leverage regional planning, existing infrastructure, and the availability of feedstock and water resources for investment.

During a ceremony, Abbaszadeh highlighted the importance of downstream industries and congratulated attendees on the start of Ramadan. He emphasized the need to shift from exporting raw materials to producing final products within Iran, which would significantly increase added value. Abbaszadeh also stressed that completing the value chain is essential, urging closer collaboration between departments to support this goal.

He addressed challenges related to large petrochemical plants that lack flexibility in adjusting product grades and called for greater cooperation between the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade and the NPC. Abbaszadeh expressed confidence in resolving existing challenges, ensuring sustainable production, and promoting the growth of the petrochemical sector.

He reaffirmed NPC’s commitment to supporting all stakeholders within the petrochemical industry, emphasizing that the company remains aligned with the industry’s broader goals.
