Energy giant Naturgy has partnered with renewable energy specialist ID Energy Group to develop 20 biomethane plants across Spain, marking a significant step in the country’s energy transition.
Announced on 21 May, the collaboration represents an investment of over €500 million and aims to produce around 1,600 GWh of biomethane annually—enough to supply approximately 320,000 homes. The plants will be located in various Spanish regions and are expected to become operational between 2026 and 2028.
