Nakilat Expands Fleet with Six New Gas Carriers to Meet Rising Global Demand

Nakilat has taken a significant step in expanding its fleet, reinforcing its dedication to ensuring safe and efficient gas transportation to meet rising global demand. The Qatar Gas Transport Company recently announced the start of construction for six advanced gas carriers at the HD Hyundai Samho (HSHI) shipyard in South Korea.

A ceremony marking the occasion was attended by senior executives from Nakilat and HD Hyundai Samho, along with esteemed guests, as they witnessed the official launch of construction for two cutting-edge LNG carriers and four state-of-the-art LPG/ammonia carriers.

Each LNG carrier will have a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, while the LPG carriers will hold 88,000 cubic meters each. These vessels are set for delivery between 2026 and 2027 and will be equipped with next-generation propulsion systems and fuel-efficient technologies. In line with Nakilat’s commitment to sustainability, these new ships will incorporate the latest advancements in energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. By continuously investing in innovative, eco-friendly solutions, Nakilat is strengthening its role in LNG and LPG transportation while maintaining the highest safety, reliability, and environmental standards in the industry.
