Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El Khatib, met with Ahmed Wafik, CEO of Saint-Gobain Glass Egypt, to discuss the company’s current and future investments in the country. El Khatib emphasized the ministry’s commitment to supporting Saint-Gobain in expanding its investments, which will help meet domestic market demands and boost exports.
Saint-Gobain’s current investments in Egypt stand at €160 million, with annual exports valued at €56 million. The company plans to invest an additional €300 million by 2026, including the establishment of new factories.
Wafik disclosed that Saint-Gobain is currently constructing a flat glass manufacturing plant in Ain Sokhna with an investment of €175 million, scheduled for completion in 2026.
