McDermott Wins EPCI Contract for Offshore Gas Project in Trinidad and Tobago”

McDermott has been awarded an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract by Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited for the development of the Manatee gas field, located 60 miles (100 kilometers) off the southeast coast of Trinidad and Tobago.

This contract follows McDermott’s successful delivery of the front-end engineering design, detailed engineering, and long lead procurement services for the project’s initial design and planning phases.

The scope of the contract includes the design, procurement, fabrication, hookup, and commissioning of a platform and jacket. McDermott will also handle the design, installation, and commissioning of a 32-inch gas pipeline connecting the platform to a Shell-operated gas processing facility. Additionally, the contract covers the design, procurement, installation, and testing of a fiber optic cable.

Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott’s Senior Vice President of Subsea and Floating Facilities, stated, “This award highlights our integrated EPCI capabilities and our history of engineering excellence and innovation. The Manatee project exemplifies our commitment to delivering large offshore platforms and complex subsea infrastructure. It builds on our successful track record with Shell and reinforces our dedication to developing the energy infrastructure needed to meet global demand.”

This contract further demonstrates McDermott’s ongoing commitment to supporting Trinidad and Tobago’s gas supply for both domestic and export markets.
