Malaysia’s Borneo Cement plans a 1.75 Mta plant

Malaysia’s Borneo Cement (Sabah) is installing a 5000 tpd integrated cement plant in Nabawan, Tongod district in Sabah, southeast of Kota Kinabalu.

The project had been already announced by the Malaysian Investment Development Agency in August 2023 and is by the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO). Sinoma will be co-investor of the greenfield cement plant (TCDRI plant illustration), which will use latest Chinese cement technology.  Electricity and water supply amenities will be built along with telecommunications towers that would also benefit residents around the area. The project, worth RM 1.2 bn, would provide more than 1,000 jobs and shall be operational by the end of the year.
