L&T Wins Record-Breaking Offshore Contract for QatarEnergy’s North Field Expansion

In a landmark achievement for its offshore hydrocarbon business, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured the largest single contract in its history. QatarEnergy LNG, the world’s leading liquefied natural gas (LNG) company, has awarded L&T the ultra-mega offshore contract for the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Project (NFPS COMP 4).

This contract, L&T’s biggest order to date, covers the complete engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of two offshore compression complexes. These complexes will include large offshore platforms equipped with advanced compression and power generation facilities, living quarters, flare platforms, interconnected bridges, and other essential infrastructure.

S. N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, remarked:
“Securing QatarEnergy LNG’s ultra-mega offshore contract—the largest single order in our history—is a landmark achievement. This prestigious project strengthens our global energy portfolio while supporting Qatar’s energy security objectives. We thank QatarEnergy LNG for their trust in L&T to deliver this complex and strategically vital project. We look forward to setting new benchmarks in project execution, reinforcing Qatar’s position as a global LNG leader.”

Located approximately 80 kilometers off Qatar’s northeast coast, these offshore platforms play a crucial role in QatarEnergy’s ongoing efforts to sustain and expand natural gas production from the North Field.

Subramanian Sarma, Deputy Managing Director & President of L&T, stated:
“Winning a project of this scale reflects the confidence and trust QatarEnergy LNG has in L&T’s expertise and ability to execute large-scale offshore projects. This collaboration not only strengthens our partnership but also reaffirms L&T’s commitment to supporting Qatar’s strategic energy objectives through innovative and reliable solutions.”
