Kyrgyzstan Expands Cement Industry with Construction of Multiple New Plants

The Chinese company Yunsheng Mining plans to build a new greenfield cement plant in Tyup, located in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. Details on the plant’s capacity and timeline have not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, two additional cement projects are underway in the country. Kant Cement, part of the United Cement Group (UCG), is constructing a new 2,500 tpd clinker production line at its Kant facility. Terek-Tash LLC is developing a 4,200 tpd cement plant in the Kemin district and a separate grinding plant in Issyk-Ata. In 2023, Kyrgyzstan produced 2.961 million tons of cement with a total capacity of 3.9 million tons annually. However, cement production saw a decline in 2024.
