Kadapa Plant Expansion: Dalmia Cement Adds 1 Mta Capacity

Dalmia Cement has expanded the capacity of its integrated cement plant in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, India by 1.0 million tonnes per annum (Mta) of grinding capacity. With this expansion, the company now operates a cement manufacturing capacity of 46.6 Mta across 15 plants and grinding units (GUs) spread across 10 Indian states.

In May, Dalmia Cement opened a 1.0 Mta grinding unit in Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu. The company is also working on ongoing capacity additions totaling 2.9 Mta, which include a 0.5 Mta brownfield expansion in Rohtas, Bihar, and a 2.4 Mta greenfield expansion in Lanka, Assam.

Dalmia Cement plans to increase its total capacity to 75 Mta by FY 2027 and further to 110-130 Mta by FY 2031. This expansion strategy may also involve an inorganic growth of 9.4 Mta through the acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates.
