JGC Secures Pre-Feasibility Study Contract for CCU Project Utilizing Cement Plant Exhaust in Thailand

JGC Holdings Corporation, led by representative director and CEO Masayuki Sato, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, JGC Corporation, under the leadership of representative director and president Farhan Mujib, has secured a Pre-Feasibility Study contract from Siam Cement Group –

Cement and Green Solution Business (SCG – CGS), one of Thailand’s largest cement manufacturers. This study will focus on developing a Carbon Dioxide Capture and Utilization (CCU) facility to manage cement plant exhaust.

Cement production, similar to power generation and iron and steel production, is known for high CO2 emissions due to the combustion of limestone, which releases carbon and oxygen. With the increasing global demand for CO2 emissions reduction, the cement industry in Thailand faces urgent pressure to address its carbon footprint.
