INOX Air Products Begins Construction of Specialty Gas Facility

Industrial gas major INOX Air Products (INOX AP) has commenced construction of a state-of-the-art specialty gas manufacturing facility in Dholera, Gujarat, India, to supply ultra-high-purity gases essential for the rapidly developing semiconductor industry.

The new facility will produce nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and hydrogen, meeting the stringent purity standards required for semiconductor fabrication processes. The plant will also play a key role in supporting Tata Electronics’ $11 billion semiconductor fabrication plant, being developed in partnership with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) — one of India’s most ambitious technology manufacturing projects to date.

According to Siddharth Jain, Managing Director of the INOX Group, the company aims to commission the facility within 12 to 18 months, positioning INOX Air Products as a critical enabler of India’s goal to build a resilient domestic semiconductor supply chain.

“The new Dholera facility marks a significant milestone in India’s journey toward self-reliance in advanced electronics manufacturing,” Jain told The Economic Times. “Our expertise in producing ultra-high-purity industrial gases will ensure reliable and high-quality supply to India’s first semiconductor fabs.”

As India accelerates its semiconductor manufacturing ambitions under the government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, demand for high-purity gases is expected to surge. INOX Air Products’ new investment aligns with this national vision, further strengthening its position as a leading provider of industrial and specialty gases to the electronics, energy, and manufacturing sectors.
