Hydrogen Transportation Network in Oman by OQGN & Fluxys

OQ Gas Networks (OQGN) has entered into a strategic partnership with Belgium-based Fluxys to develop Oman’s core hydrogen transportation infrastructure. The agreement was formalized in Muscat, with OQGN CEO Eng. Mansour Ali Al Abdali and Fluxys CEO Pascal De Buck signing under the patronage of Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals.

As part of the agreement, both companies will work together to invest in and operate a minority stake in Oman’s future hydrogen network. This joint effort supports the country’s clean energy vision under “Oman 2040,” focusing on accelerating hydrogen production and enabling a low-carbon economy.

This collaboration builds on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in September 2023, aimed at developing hydrogen and CO₂ infrastructure in Oman. It also follows Fluxys’ acquisition of a 4.9% stake in OQGN during the company’s IPO.

The partnership reflects OQGN’s dedication to driving sustainable energy initiatives and Fluxys’ ambition to expand low-carbon energy networks that connect high-potential renewable regions like Oman to Europe.
