Hisense to Build Africa’s Largest AC Plant in Algeria

Facility to Produce 2 Million Units Annually

China’s industrial giant Hisense is set to establish Africa’s largest air conditioner manufacturing plant in Algeria, following an agreement signed on Wednesday. The project will be developed in partnership with Algeria’s Condor Electronics.

With an annual production capacity of two million units, nearly 80% of the output will be designated for export, while the remaining 20% will serve the local market, according to reports from Al-Bilad and other Algerian publications.

“The strategic partnership between Hisense and Condor aims to bolster Algeria’s industrial sector, particularly in household appliances and air conditioning,” Condor stated.

The plant will be located in the northern Bordj Bou Arréridj Province, though details regarding project costs and the launch timeline have not yet been disclosed.
