Gruner Renewable to build Asia’s largest CBG plant in Gujarat

Gruner Renewable Energy announced plans to build a 1 million ton per annum CBG plant, the largest in Asia, located in Gujarat and requiring an investment of Rs 220 crore.

A partnership with a large conglomerate is expected to develop more than 16,000 tons of biogas per year. The location of the plant in Navsari puts India’s renewable energy plans in perspective. Gujarat has a growing interest in green energy, in line with national trends.

First and foremost, the CBG plant plays an exceptionally important role in India’s rural economy, creating jobs and benefiting the local community. In terms of feedstock selection and plant siting strategy, Gruner is committed to the sustainable provision of biogas, taking into account various environmental aspects.

Utkarsh Gupta, Founder & CEO of Gruner Renewable Energy, highlighted the company’s mission to combat climate change and drive economic growth through sustainable energy solutions. Since its inception in 2023, Gruner has been committed to reducing climate risks by converting waste into biogas and promoting environmental sustainability.

As India moves to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels, plants like Navsari will play a critical role in advancing sustainable energy solutions. Gupta also emphasized that the establishment of CBG plants will create jobs in the biofuel sector and significantly reduce India’s crude oil imports.

With new technologies and a focus on sustainability, Gruner is taking the lead in efficient biogas production. Founded in the same year, the company is relatively young but already making an impact, providing customers with easy-to-use, low-cost biogas services while promoting the company’s agenda of environmental responsibility.
