Gradiant Expands Global Reach with Data Center Water Projects in U.S. and Indo-Pacific
Gradiant, a global leader in advanced water and wastewater solutions, has announced two major project wins with top-tier technology companies to support the development of data centers in the United States and the Indo-Pacific region. These projects aim to deliver scalable and sustainable water solutions at facilities driving the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing infrastructure.
As data centers grow in size and complexity, so does their demand for water—particularly for cooling and operations. A 100-megawatt data center in the U.S. can consume water equivalent to that used by 6,500 households each day. By 2030, global water usage by data centers is projected to more than double, reaching a staggering 1,200 billion liters annually.
To address this challenge, Gradiant is implementing tailored, environmentally responsible water strategies that reduce freshwater intake, reuse process water, and minimize the impact on surrounding communities—particularly in arid and drought-prone areas like the U.S. Southwest, Australia, and parts of the Middle East.
“In today’s climate reality, building a data center without a water strategy is not an option,” said Anurag Bajpayee, CEO of Gradiant. “Our clients want to eliminate wastewater, operate sustainably, and scale fast—without harming the environment or local communities.”
Gradiant’s offering is built around a fully integrated suite of technologies and services that include:
-
Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD): Recycles and reuses up to 99% of process water on-site, drastically reducing freshwater consumption.
-
SmartOps AI: Real-time AI-based monitoring that optimizes system performance, reduces operational costs, and minimizes downtime.
-
CURE Chemicals: Custom chemical solutions that reduce reliance on traditional water treatment chemicals, improving system longevity and environmental outcomes.
“Our end-to-end solutions simplify everything for our customers,” added Prakash Govindan, COO of Gradiant. “We unify process tech, AI, and chemicals under one umbrella, ensuring complete operational peace of mind and water efficiency at scale.”
As the digital economy accelerates, Gradiant is redefining water innovation for next-gen infrastructure. These latest project wins not only expand the company’s global footprint but also reinforce its role as a trusted sustainability partner for tech giants around the world.
