French President Confirms Plan to Construct Eight New Nuclear Reactors

French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Wednesday the launch of a project to build eight new nuclear reactors in France, highlighting their importance to the country’s energy transition.

Macron’s announcement came during a speech in which he also addressed his decision to call a snap parliamentary election following the far-right’s strong performance in Sunday’s European Parliament election.
