The countries expressing interest are the US, China, France, Russia, and South Korea. The government will soon decide on a strategic partner to begin contract negotiations and discussions.
“Based on encouraging support from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), several countries have shown interest in assisting Ghana with the development of its nuclear power programme,” stated Senior Presidential Advisor Yaw Osafo-Maafo. He made this announcement during the third edition of the African Nuclear Business Platform in Accra last Tuesday, themed “Driving Nuclear Programmes Forward in Africa.”
