FG Approves Modular Refinery for Abia Industrial Park

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has announced that the Federal Government has approved the establishment of a modular refinery within the Abia Industrial Innovation Park (AIIP) located in Ukwa West Local Government Area.

Speaking during the flag-off of the reconstruction of the Obehie-Umudobia-Owaza road, Otti revealed that the modular refinery will be built by H.I.S. Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited, and will serve as a major boost to industrial activities in the area.

According to him, the refinery project marks a significant step towards creating an industrial hub that will attract investments, create jobs, and accelerate economic growth in the region. He assured that the state government will provide full support to ensure the success of the project.

“This refinery is not just an economic asset; it’s part of our broader vision to revive and grow Ukwa’s economy and ensure our people benefit directly from the natural resources in their land,” Otti stated.
