Essar to set up green hydrogen plant in Gujarat

Essar Group is about to take a big step forward by investing Rs 30,000 crore in a green hydrogen plant in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Over the next four years, Essar Future Energy plans to build a hydrogen capacity of 1 gigawatt and a green molecule capacity of 1 million tons per year.

As part of its growth strategy, Essar is also working to decarbonize its UK plant, build a green steel plant in Saudi Arabia, and become a leader in the LNG and electric ecosystem for long-haul trucks. This move demonstrates the company’s commitment to clean energy.

Essar is also exploring business opportunities in the mining of key minerals and increasing its use of green energy to 10,000 MW. As part of its forward-looking strategy, the company is improving gas production from coal seams, making progress in coal bed methane and shale gas exploration, and using technology to change the way energy is used around the world.
