Erex signs MOU biomass plants in Vietnam

Erex has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop biomass projects and foster relationships in the Bao Thang District of Vietnam. The signing ceremony took place last month between Erex and the Lào Cai Province at the Vietnam Tourism Investment Conference in Tokyo.

Erex noted that in Southeast Asian countries, the demand for electric power is rising due to economic growth, leading to increased energy imports. Simultaneously, there is a pressing need for decarbonization measures. In response to these circumstances, Erex is pursuing energy development projects, including the construction of biomass power plants in Vietnam, the development of biomass fuels in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries, and fuel conversion through biomass co-firing at coal-fired power plants.

The company emphasized its commitment to realizing low-cost, rapid decarbonization while ensuring a stable energy supply, taking into account the unique circumstances of Asian countries.
