EDF passes a key milestone for Czech nuclear power

The Czech Republic has announced that it will retain EDF’s offer for the construction of nuclear reactors, along with that of the South Korean KHNP. The contract with the selected supplier should be signed at the turn of 2024 and 2025.

The matter is far from closed, but a first important milestone has been reached. This Wednesday, the Czech government announced that it was retaining offers from EDF and South Korean KHNP for the construction of nuclear reactors. Prague, on the other hand, excluded the American Westinghouse. The Czech Republic first launched a call for tenders in 2022 for the construction of a new reactor before revising its expectations upwards. Now he wants four, in the Temelin and Dukovany power plants.
