EBRD Invests in Turkey’s Cement plant Çimko’s Eurobond

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is investing US$ 50 million in a US$ 300 million Eurobond issuance by Çimko Çimento ve Beton Sanayi, a major cement producer based in Türkiye. The 5-year Eurobond will support Çimko’s ongoing efforts to decarbonize its operations, refinance existing debt, and reinforce the company’s financial structure.

Çimko operates three integrated cement plants located in Kahramanmaraş/Narlı, Adıyaman, and Bartın, along with one grinding plant and two packaging facilities. With an annual cement production capacity of 9.4 million tonnes and clinker capacity of 5.6 million tonnes, the company plays a key role in Türkiye’s construction and infrastructure sectors.

This investment aligns with the EBRD’s commitment to accelerating the green transition and supporting sustainable development in Türkiye’s industrial sector. By helping Çimko improve its energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, the funding contributes to broader climate and environmental goals while promoting financial resilience and competitiveness.
